In addition, investement in the tourism sector have been very encouraging, about 3.2 billion birr was invested in the construction of five and four star hotels, of which about forty five are being constructed in Addis Ababa, by the way this city is the capital of Ethiopia, Oromia State, and the Headquarter of African Union, the EEC, and many more International Organizations, thus the major hotel construction activity.
The other sector that have shown growth is, the Electric Power sector, which in the new Ethiopian Millennium is planning to increase by sixty percent. The Ethiopian Telecomunication corporation have already expanded in recent years, and for the Millennium ETC have invested two hundred million USD for expanssion of services.
The best news for the analyst is the fact that the peasant population, majority of Ethiopians are peasants (eighty five percent), have grown economically by producing cash crops in addition to the favorable market price of coffee. And the New Millennium gift for ethiopian peasants is the Starbucks agreement, thanks to the good office of Oxfam.
In the health sector, in addition to the thousands of Health Posts construction, in a very unconventional strategy the Ethiopian Doctor now earns as much as the Prime Minister. Thus encouraging doctors to remain as employee of the Ministry Of Health and improving service delivery.
Education coverage is almost to UNESCO's Millennium goal
All these indicate that Ethiopia is on the right track for substantial economic growth by the New Ethiopian Millennium.
